5 things I love- cupcakes!

Sorry I haven't posted for a while, I've been down at my grandma's! But now I'm back, and with another of the things that make me long to buy the product.... cupcakes. As well as cupcake emblazoned bags, scarves etc, I adore the little cupcake shops that are springing up everywhere. There is an especially nice one in Whitstable, whose name I have forgotten, but their cakes look absolutely amazing. They even sell cupcakes in ice cream cones. How cool is that?

Anyway, on with 5 things I love.

Guest Post - Ricki from rouge baby boutique

Today I have a guset post, with these yummy muffins.

Hi! I'm Ricki from Rogue Baby Boutique! I am a wife, mama, crafter, blogger, and cooking enthusiast. I love to make custom diaper wipes cases, hair pretties, and baking! Today, I'd love to share with you one of my favorite new recipes. Bananas gone coconuts muffins! Yumm! For other yummy recipes and fun stuff, please visit my blog at www.roguebaby.blogspot.com

In my house, we tend to always have bananas in the house. We all like them when they are still a tinge of green, so once they start to get those brown spots, they are destined for banana bread or to be frozen for protien shakes. But not anymore! Those bananas have found a new purpose.
Introducing... Bananas Gone Coconuts Muffins!

These sweet babies are made from just about as "scratch" as you can get. And are pretty easy!

Here's what you will need:
3 cups flour
3 ripe bananas
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 sticks salted butter (melted or room temp)
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 cup milk (evaporated or coconut milk would be a good substitute)
1 cup shredded coconut
Heat the oven to 350 degrees. In a mixing bowl, mash the bananas. beat in sugars, eggs, and butter. Then blend in flour, baking soda, vanilla extract, and milk. Lastly mix in the coconut.
Makes 24 standard cupcake size muffins. Boo Boo calls them cupcakes, and my hubby agrees, a good homemade cream cheese frosting would turn these quickly from "muffins" to cupcakes! )

Ruffles galore!

I loved the blue ruffle bag so much that I made another one! This one didn't turn out quite as well, being smaller and the back being inside out, but I like it anyway.

Brooches and Pincushions

I love this pincushion and brooch. I found the pincushion at a car boot sale (Like so many awesome things) and the brooch was a christmas present. Is it an owl? A cat? I don't know, but I love it anyway!

Cute ruffley bag

Today I made a lovely ruffley bag, out of a metre of fabric. You can't see it here, but it has a silky blue lining, which I LOVE!!! I wore the bag today with a short trench coat with a pinched in waist, and turquoise jeans which match perfectly with the bag. Great outfit! The bag itself is pretty easy, as it's basically a tote bag with four ruffles fixed onto it. I feel a lot of these ruffles coming on...

Also, loving the Vivid Please giveaway! Check out their blog at www.vividplease.me to find out more... there is loads of sooo cute geeky stuff.

Easter Bunny

This lovely little bunny was made with the help of a visiting friend, and some lovely pink button fabric. I attempted to use the fork method of making pom-poms, but after 3 efforts that failed miserably, just got some strands of wool and tied another strand round their middle. Hope you like it!

Easter Presents

My grandma sent me this gorgeous sewing organizer as an easter present, and it is really great! I play the trombone, do the cross stitched brass instruments on the pockets are a lovely detail.
Plus, she also sent 3 fat quarters from her local sewing shop, Fiddlesticks. Two owly ones and a buttony one... sounds great to me! Happy easter everybody- just don't eat toooo much chocolate.
